Strata Florisil provides unique polar selectivity for normal phase applications.

It is especially useful for EPA methods that require the extraction of compounds such as organochlorine pesticides, organophosphates, nitrosoamines, and haloethers.

Learn more about Strata Florisil

Silica

Selectivity: unbonded surface results in hydrogen bonding, which gives strong retention mechanism for polar compounds.
  • Extraction of polar compounds that are similar in structure.

CN

Selectivity: unique, selectivity toward non-polar and polar compounds combined with secondary polar silanol interactions.
  • Retaining non-polar compounds that are retained too strongly on Strata C18-E or C8.
  • A normal phase sorbent used to extract polar compounds from non-polar solvents.

Florisil

Selectivity: polar retention attributed to magnesium ion on the silica surface.
  • Extraction of pesticides from environmental samples.
  • Extraction of halogented compounds.

NH2

Selectivity: retention mechanism of polar analytes by either hydrogen bonding or weak anion exchange.
  • Extraction of strong anions from aqueous samples.
  • Extraction of polar compounds similar in structure.
  • Extracting polar compounds that may be retained too strongly on Strata Si-1 such as hydroxyl groups.
